Arise

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 60:1-3

blanket_fortWe’re just 10 days from Christmas. For some, we may be starting to feel the pressure to make sure “everything is perfect!” The days feel impossibly short right now with the sun setting so early now. Our energy is waning in this marathon towards the big day.

Maybe you just want to curl up in a ball and hide under a blanket for a while.

Nothing wrong with that, if you ask me!

But this is also a time to look for the light. A time to seek the One who will chase away the darkness. A time for when the whole earth looks to see the radiance of the one born in Bethlehem, Jesus Christ our Lord.

So when we find our quiet space, let us take time to watch for the Light of the World and the hope, peace, joy and love he brings.

Lord God, let Your Light shine on me. In my darkness may I know Your Light will lead my way.
Help me to turn to Jesus Christ in this season as the One who comes to save the world. Amen.
