I’ve watched the Olympic ceremonies in small installments, although enough to see the entire show twice. What I can say about it is that it was mighty impressive. Thousands of people taking part in the ceremony that was an amazing integration of technology and history.
What really impressed me was the precision of how everything executed. Often in opening ceremonies you see people fall, or get out of step in their routines. But this year, you really had to look hard for mistakes. There were a couple very minor ones that I noticed, but I missed them the first time watching.
I guess I sort of expected a top notch show, but with that many people so well coordinated and precise, it was truly amazing.
Now all I have to say to the politicians and protestors is… you’ve had your say, now it’s time for the atheletes to shine and have the headlines.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!
I have to agree. This is about the athletes and not about China. It’s too bad it is in China, I guess, but that’s really beside the point. Regardless of where it is, it’s about the friendly competition.
It’s really too bad the Iranian wouldn’t swim with the Israeli. Even the Georgian and Russian athletes embraced when they both won medals. Why can’t we all just love one another like we were commanded.
