“How Much is Enough?”
2 Timothy 1:1-14; Luke 17:5-10

In my experience, mentoring has a great influence on the one being mentored. It can go really well if you have a good mentor. But things can come off the rail quickly if you don’t have a good one.

I worked in Ottawa for five years. However, I was really close to being laid off before my first year was over. I was really struggling in my job. I felt like I didn’t know what I was doing, and I didn’t have a sense of direction as to where I should be going. My mentor was a man who had worked alone for some time. Book Review – Reframing Hope

Reframing Hope: Vital Ministry in a New Generation
Carol Harold Merrit

I first learned about Carol Harold Merrit doing research on the feelings of Gen-X’ers in the church. I found her book, Tribal Church, and resonated with her views on how people of my generation see the church and its importance in their lives.

In Reframing Hope she continues to resonate by connecting with the continuing frustrations with the church, but also looks to the hope that still exists.

People are looking for answers, and they are looking in new ways. read more…
