Naps
Monte Solberg has apparantly mastered a skill that I could really use right now.
I sit here, prying my eyelids open staring at the wordprocessor where I need to write one paper and get a serious start on another. It has been an extremely busy past week, and the next one doesn’t look any better.
A nap would be sooo useful right now, but it’s not going to happen, and thus not going to be helpful to even try. All I can do is hope that somehow it might make sense whatever I end up writing.
Snow Day
Well, it’s a snowday here.
Only problem is, ANY other Wednesday would be appreciated for a snow day but this one. My afternoon was already cancelled weeks before, class was shortened tonight for the Nicholson Lectures in Homiletics and after last night was looking forward to tonight’s lecture which might not be snowed out. The storm is supposed to ease this afternoon so we’ll see. Oh well… at least it’s still a snow day. 🙂
Anyways, getting lots of planning done for the two services later this month I’m leading which I would not have had time for otherwise.
UPDATE: The lecture did happen tonight, and there was a pretty decent crowd considering that most everything was shutdown today.
A busy weekend
It all started Friday morning, bright and early…
We had our second ultrasound at 8am, so it was up early and out the door in a hurry to make it to the hospital for the appointment. We had the second as just a ultrasound just to check something after the first as a minor precaution. No problems were expected going in, and none were found.
After that it was off to Cape Breton for the night. Why? Well, we said good bye to the little yellow Protege 5. I say little because we needed a little more space with baby #2 on the way, and also a car that Bev would feel more comfortable driving. So now we feel all mature and junk in a Camry. It was Cape Breton for the car because we saved a fair bit of money by doing a deal there than in the city. Now if I could just stop looking for the clutch I’d be fine!
So it was a quick trip since we had to be back yesterday afternoon so I could be in church this morning.
Today was catching up on work day. Pretty soon its crashy-sleepy time! Tomorrow is final prep for my workshop on Technology in Worship tomorrow night.
This school thing takes a lot of time and energy that gets in the way of doing good church work. But oh well, I’ll certainly have my chance at that in the coming years! 🙂
Election Quote of the night
HAS to go to Peter Mansbridge when following an interview with Barenaked Ladies Steven Page at the NDP headquarters…
“We all like the barenaked ladies” (the ‘the’ was barely audible which made it even better!)
A Conservative minority, it will be an interesting time in Canada. The big question will be, can the parties get along any better this time than when the libs led the minority? Will some real progress get made? We shall see…
A theory…
Ok, it’s January 14th, and it’s 11 degrees outside. What is up with that?
Well, my wife does have a theory, and it’s pretty sound to me. She predicts that winter will hit hard January 24th. Why the 24th you ask? Here’s the theory…
The election is on the 23rd right? So up until now, we’ve had all the hot air blowing about with all the politicians in high campaign gear!
Sounds about right to me! So you heard it from Bev first, through this blog, that winter will come January 24th after the election and the hot air blows off.
