Here is Bush’s Statement after the London Bombings.

This comment in the final paragraph I find quite interesting.

“We will find them, we will bring them to justice, and at the same time, we will spread an ideology of hope and compassion that will overwhelm their ideology of hate.”

I’m a little confused as to how moving in with armies into countries ‘associated’ with the terrorists, bombing and shooting on the way, is spreading “… an ideology of hope and compassion that will overwhelm their ideology of hate.”

I’m not trying to single out Bush in this, but he certainly is a main representative of some of the world’s reaction to this and other similar events over recent years. I just don’t see how what we are doing in response is really helping. If we want to send “hope and compassion” as our main message (and who doesn’t), isn’t there a more peaceful way to spread it?

I guess this is why I’m not in government politics.
