It doesn’t look the same as it once did. It doesn’t work the same way it once did. It doesn’t feel the same way it once did either.
While I am willing to accept that my body will not be the same as it was in my early 20s, I am not happy with the fact I have crept across the 200lb boundary on the scale. My jokes of not losing the baby weight have grown old (they are almost 7 and 5 now) and it’s time to make a change.
I’ve been playing basketball weekly for almost a year now, and while it’s a good start, 2 hours one night a week does not provide enough physical activity.
Late last week I started using EA Sports Active 2 on our Wii. It has been a pretty good workout, and I hope I am able to stay motivated enough to continue using it. I’m hoping part of that motivation will come from regular updates here. Scripture tells us our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. I need to keep mine in better condition so I can be a strong and dependable follower of Jesus Christ as we share God’s love with the world.
