US Presidential Campaigning = Oodles of Cash

Posted on February 7, 2008 by nick

Obama raises $7.2M, Clinton gains $6.4M since Super Tuesday

This on top of the $100 million each raised last year. First… WHERE does this money go? How is it spent? And finally… WHY SO MUCH!?!?

I can’t imagine what the world might look like if all that money were spent on some of the many, many programs around the world to help people in various stages of need.

As someone who works in a church, I can’t quite understand from a stewardship point of view how two people can raise so much money (not to mention all the money each other candidate has raised in their own campaigns), and all they are doing is running for a public office. Seems like a huge waste to me!

Maybe someone out there can enlighten me?

What is this?

CBC Nova Scotia – MacKenzie’s new plan: ‘Premier Darrell’

This isn’t what we voted for yesterday? 40% of the province voted Tory, which only translated into a minority government. How does this give the two other parties (with different platforms) the right to run the province?

It’s going to be an interesting summer as it sounds like the Grits are trying to make themselves sound useful after a terrible campaign result (and a not so great campaign!).

Let’s give Rodney a chance, he ran a respectful, positive campaign, not lowering the partry to the level of aggresive attacks from the other parties.
